Ghost Hunters Trailer is here!

So excited about this!
A trailer for a stage play? Well, yes.
We love making films and the trailer idea is great fun to create and gives a sneak preview of lots of things that actually aren’t in the play at all….
For instance, all the lines ARE from the play, so are the sound effects and music (and the characters, obviously). But, at present we don’t have a ‘set’ to film on, so we used all kinds of other locations to film. Meaning .. you get the idea of the play without seeing any of the locations or sets. I suppose you could see it as all the things the characters do when they aren’t on stage!
More on the play later…
Please share the video on social media or email if you can.
Thanks

Sometime last year we decided to film a couple of scenes from Rob Hockley’s play Darkness in the Night as a marketing resource. Then (after we had finished filming of course) we thought .. why not make a movie style trailer instead. So .. after a script, a narrator, a soundtrack and many hours of trying to piece it together from the shots we actually had available, this is the result. I think it’s fair to say that after watching you will probably have no idea what the play is actually about … but it is fun.

This is Tom’s Introduction to his cunning plan to make a video diary of the production we’re just starting to go alongsise all his photos. Sam Collins is in the hot seat this time! I can see I have a few things to live up to here!

Somebody should paint that stage …..

I’m just starting to work on Terry Pratchett’s ‘Maskerade’ and photographer Tom Flathers has decided to make video diaries of the process as well as taking his usual great photos! This one of me answering Tom’s questions on a bare stage with some groovy lighting…. Purple and orange go so well together..

Oddly (but not unusual in films) Part 1 is being filmed tomorrow!

More from Shakespeare Day! This time we leave the land of Macbeth and, back in the real world, tempers are running high. Are the lads about to fight … Romeo and Juliet anyone?

This is the opening scene of Beauty and the Beast. We started with the backstory (the bit about the Prince being turned into a Beast) – I hate it when you get to the end of a show and there’s a long explanation of how everything came to be, how awful it’s all been and how glad they all are that the spell has been broken etc …..

The Beast allows Beauty to return home after she sees (in the magic mirror) that her Father is ill. But .. she must return in one week. But her sisters, Phoebe and Sissy, have other ideas. Here they convince her that to return after only one week would be selfish, they need her and so does her Father… They do, of course, have a much darker plan underneath the jolly sounding song!
